I use Mickey Adams for pedal steel, who has about 200 youtube videos - and doesn't mess around. Here's a link to an index.

For other instruments, I usually just search youtube until I find a comfortable fit - at my playing level, then stick with that person until I max out on them.

Facebook actually has a Grateful Dead Musicians group that covers a lot of stuff. You wouldn't believe the shit people go through to sound like Jerry!

The same can be said for buying instruments and other gear. There are so many reviews written and recorded on video about this stuff that you can make excellent buying decisions if you want to get in the game. I use ZZSounds.com for a lot of my gear - they've got some excellent purchase plans.

I really can't stress this enough - but playing music brings great inner joy, and for those of us on in our "autumn" years, it's a fantastic way to keep mentally agile and physically active. (Perhaps we should start a whole thread about it?)
