An archive is only useful if it is easy for people to find information and use that information. The new format/layout fails this basic test miserably. It is not intuitive, easy to use, or helpful. There does not seem to be an order to the entries and the titles without descriptors are virtually useless.

There is no way that this format was ever tested on lay audiences. I have shown it to three very intelligent, technologically savvy people and they could not understand the reasoning behind the new format.

If I am forced to use the new format I will no longer have the pleasure of scrolling through the different entries and trying shows that pique my interest. I will just stick with the shows I already know, because without understandable titles and descriptors I will not start randomly trying new entries.

This is such a shame. I am sure it is hard to admit that this new format is a failure. Especially when so many people put so much time and effort into it, but sometimes you just have to accept the reality of the situation. It is time to scrap the new format and put energy into making the old format better.

I know that there were many negative comments on the new format during beta, but those concerns were apparently ignored. Unfortunately, Archive seems to be run by an annonymous cabal unresponsive to its users. I have yet to see any response to the very legitimate concerns of the loyal users of this site.

I was dismayed to read in another (hard to find in the new format) forum that the phrase "Read every comment" actually means scanned a list and picked out the things they agreed with. I'm old and I preferred the original format. I do not understand why the old site is too difficult to maintain.

Sad announcement that the old site is going away soon.

i'm 63 years old,and NOTHING makes sense to me anymore.like taking a site that i dearly loved, was easy to navigate and understand, and turn it into a cryptic mess of color plates of books and radio shows that I can no longer use!i'm sure some teenager that grew up with this technology would feel right at home with it.....but right now, I haven't a clue.now it's just something else that i really enjoyed that I no longer can stand to use. DAMN!!

The only positive thing I can say about the new format is that it shows the moniker of the uploader; and maybe it kept someone employed. Other than that even I can generate a poll....

I think that it was Marx or Lenin who said that the voter decides nothing; the vote COUNTER decides everything.

If the only poll results that are counted are the results you want then the poll can show whatever you want it to show.

My opinion.... New format - - - Poo
